Manchester Friends of the Earth

Get involved in an environmental campaign you’re passionate about!

ALL YEAR Manchester

Want to get involved in an environmental campaign you’re passionate about? Manchester Friends of the Earth is a local environmental group run by volunteers campaigning for and raising awareness of issues relating to climate change, sustainable food, justice, biodiversity, waste and sustainable transport. By joining or going along to one of their open meetings, you can take action to make changes and shape the city you’re living in for the better.

Getting involved in campaigns is a way of learning about the community you’re living in, meeting new people and learning new skills, all while making an active contribution to society. Anyone is welcome to join any of Manchester FOE’s full group meetings as well as specific campaign meetings if you already have a specific cause in mind.

There are multiple ways you can get involved including:

  • Helping at FOE events and talking to members of the public about environmental matters

  • Producing content for the website and newsletters

  • Helping to plan and run campaigns

  • Fundraising

  • Lobbying MPs

  • Organising events such as public speakers, debates, gigs

  • Writing responses to events in the press relating to the environment

  • Researching and writing responses to local consultations such as Manchester’s climate change policy
