International Volunteering

Volunteering internationally is an exciting and rewarding way to make a difference in communities overseas. It may be for you if you are someone who is happy to try new things, go out of your comfort zone and deal with the unexpected (and sometimes uncomfortable!).

The University of Manchester have a number of trusted partners in countries around the world for which we advertise volunteering opportunities. We have also launched, in 2015, a new Team Uganda project in partnership with S.A.L.V.E. International.

This year we are running our flagship overseas volunteering project, Team Uganda, advertising our expanding list of Trusted Partners, and we have lots of advice and guidance to help you navigate the organisations out there if you are interested in finding your own international volunteering opportunity.

Our International Volunteering webpages are the place to go it you are interested in finding overseas volunteering opportunities with one of our trusted partners. All opportunities we advertise have been carefully checked out and meet our criteria for quality overseas volunteering projects.

Some projects we are advertising are funded; others you will need to fund yourself. The University of Manchester offers the Global Impact Awards and three Travel Awards annually for students wishing to travel overseas.

The volunteering  pages also offer advice on finding your own overseas volunteering opportunities.
