The Manchester Debating Union (MDU) is the home of free speech and debate for all Universities in Manchester. They hold weekly public debates featuring journalists, politicians and academics. Debates are on a wide range of topics and members have the opportunity to develop their debating skills.

Primarily based at the University of Manchester, the MDU arrange public debates, teach people how to speak in public and to see issues from all sides of the argument. Their goal is to open up debate and public speaking to everyone.
